9/4/24

Uh oh, I'm getting a little behind again. But I'll try and give some updates in this post. So what's been going on recently... Well I kind of have a little friend group now, which consists of me, Oliva, Paige, and Lennon. We hung out as a little group on Saturday since it was Labor day weekend and there weren't any parties or anything. So that was kind of fun. It was just me, Paige, and Olivia at first and we drove around and they gave me their classic interview. Then Lennon met up with us and we just talked in Paige's car. Then we made a group chat the next day called Bob Linda Tina Gene.

Also on Sunday was Lewis McNeely's funeral, so my family went to that. I think he was my great uncle, I'm not really sure I never met him. But yeah, Sunday was kinda fun. Before the funeral, I woke up at Nana's because the night before was the Bob's Burger hangout, and drove home at like, 7. Then my mom and dad and I went to church and Vicar Rickar did NOT recognize me and that made my dad start cracking up in the middle of the sermon and my mom got embarrassed.

After church we ate at Culver's and I saw Scott from TKE in there. I also left my phone outside on one of the tables because I thought we were eating outside because they were kinda busy, and a worker had to come and ask if I left my phone out there, but I'd already went out and got it. And my mom and dad were both recognizing people and talking to them. It was a little overstimulating. But my mushroom and swiss burger was SO BUSSING.

Then after Culver's we went to the funeral which I basically already talked about. It was at Ford's (?) funeral home, which is honestly a nostalgic place for me because the funerals there were always kind of fun when I was little and I'd be running around and playing and stuff. But today the only real exciting thing that happened was an old lady hitting her head on a lamp on the side of the wall. But after the funeral we went to Sam's where I saw TWO MORE TKES, Mason and Romell. Which is kinda weird because they were with drunk me like two nights ago. But I said hi to them and my dad was there. Which kinda reminds me, my dad acts really weird about TKE, like he said he's free to make fun of me since I joined, soooo, whatever that means.

After Sam's we went home and I probably did nothing else. But whatever that was Sunday. Then Labor day was a whole nother story, that I don't really wanna get into but I guess I will. It was at our house and people didn't really start showing up until 3 or 4 because we ate at 5. But I just cleaned around the house and stuff until people start getting here. The food really did hit different and was so good. That was definitely the best thing about this whole get-together. My mom smoked ribs and wings, June brough hashbrown casserole, Jennifer brought chocolate chip cookies and gooey butter cake for dessert, it was so good. And there was potato salad and deviled eggs and stuff, but obviously I didn't eat that stuff. But it was us cousins that ate outside together on the back porch, which wasn't really that bad. It was Connor and his girlfriend (forgot her name), Mariel and Zach, and then I think just me and Janell. Pierce and his new girl, Ava Niper didn't show up until later and Kyle was back in Rolla. But it was alright. Then eventually me, Janell, Zach, and Mariel played some cornhole while Connor and Pierce and their girls were chicken fighting (?) in our pool. Also they were being spectated by all the moms and grandmas, it was a cute moment. So that was labor day.

Then yesterday, Tuesday, the only thing that happened was that I went to Paige's spin class at 3:30, and that was a freaking workout. But I got to talk to Paige and Oliva and stuff so it was kind of fun. Also, like 3/4 of the 12 people there were Paige's family, so that was kind of funny. And also I guess the TKE's are a part of this frat football and volleyball league that's going on, but I don't really think I'd be that good at either of those, so I don't think I'll join that. But I've also been going to the gym and stuff, I haven't really mentioned that yet, but I've been hitting up HealthPoint after class most days and am taking creatine and stuff, so yeah. I feel like I'm kind of at a turning point in my life. Especially compared to how I was feeling at the end of last semester and over the summer, so that's good.

8/23/24

Today was a kinda busy day for me. I didn't have breakfast, #intermittentfasting, but I had an Alani energy drink and a scoop of creatine. Then I drove off to class.

I had Anatomy II first and that was alright. I got asked to close the door in the middle of class, so that was the little highlight of the class today. But yeah, we're talking about the brain and stuff now. After that class got over, I talked to Evan Blondin because he was texting me about his fraternity, so I told him I could come to one of their things this evening.

Then I had Music Artist Expression and that class feels like it goes by so slow. But it's kinda fun, we learned about this monastery in Kentucky that sings chants. I guess we're on the chant unit, because all we've been talking about is Gregorian chants, syllabic chants, all of those. But, yeah, I still haven't talked to anyone in that class. Also he gave us a report to right by next week over artifacts from the Dark Ages, so that was kind of random.

After class I ate a meat stick that I had and went to the gym. I've really been trying to gain muscle. School starting back up has me kind of motivated. So I feel like I went pretty hard at the gym, even though I just use machines and stuff.

After the gym, I went to Nana's and ate some cheese and yogurt (and I think that lowkey gave me stomach problems for a bit) and finished all of my stuff due this week. Then I kinda just layed around not doing anything until around 6 o'clock, which was when I left to go to Lambda Chi Alpha's thing.

It was so awkward showing up to that because I had no idea where to park, who was gonna be there, or how to get in. So I ended up parking in an apartment parking lot, and then finally texting Evan. Then Evan called me and came out to greet me. He led me into the house and introduced me to some people. I always thought Lambda was a little more laid-back than TKE or other frats, but they seemed kinda wild, too. And apparently they had a party yesterday, which is kinda weird, because who throws parties on a Thursday. I talked to Layne Collier for a good bit because he was there. He was my Camp Redhawk counselor before my freshman year here. Then we started playing poker, because that's what this was, a game night. But that one game of poker lasted like, two hours, which was the entire time I was there. There weren't really that many guys there, either. Only like, six or seven playing poker, and probably about six who weren't playing. I don't even really remember anyone's names. So honestly, I like TKE more than them as of now, even though I thought they would've been better.

But yeah, I left there around 8:45 PM and got back to Nana's around 9. Then I was planning on going to the TKE party tonight, so I texted Mason, cause he was the sober driver I knew best for tonight. So he picked me up and we drove to the TKE house. It's always kinda awkward at first, and I hadn't pregamed or anything. Grant and some other dude were outside, so Mason and I talked to them for a bit. Then I got a drink (my first time trying Twisted Tea!) and talked to some guys on the front porch. I met a dude named Jordan. They were having people sign their name before they went into the party, but didn't have me do that, so I don't know what that was about. I honestly don't really remember what happened. I'm writing this on Sunday now and I went to a Saturday party too, so I'm getting Friday and Saturday a little mixed up.

But yeah, once I start drank some, I think I played some flip cup. Then Danny said he was gonna teach me to shotgun so Nyk (who was bartending) gave us a beer, but he opened it, so I ended up beer bonging it instead, and that was also a first. I did it in the bar area, got down on my knee, and literally started sputtering as soon as it got to my mouth. But then I retried once I regained myself and I downed that mug. Then they got me another beer and we went up to the porch to shotgun. Danny cracked the hole in it and I downed that. I think I got it down alright. There were some girls Danny knew out there cheering me on, so that's cool. So yeah, I ended up staying outside and had a really long conversation on the porch with this dude who I think was named Cade? But we talked about music, Star Wars, Marvel, high school, it was honestly really fun, because I suck at these kinda conversations usually, but with the alcohol, it was actually enjoyable. Nyk showed up and talked with us some too, and then a dude named Miguel, (that goes by Michael) also showed up, and he was cool, too. Then they started smoking some weed from a pipe thing, and I took a couple hits, too, just to y'know, say I've tried it. I didn't really feel anything, so maybe I inhaled wrong, but I think I was just too drunk to notice it. I talked to Oliva, the girl from Snapchat who's into me, but I'm not really into her, for a tiny bit. And I think that was basically it. I left the same time that Cade did, in Kyle's car. And I had a good talk with Kyle, too. Definitely only because I was drunk, though.

So Kyle dropped me off at Nana's and I locked the door, but then I realized I left the key in the door, so I put the key back outside, relocked it, and then went back upstairs, but then I remembered going to check the door for a third time, just to make sure it was locked. So at least I'm still worried about home security while drunk. Then I hopped on Roblox and talked to a bunch of people on there. Talking on Roblox while drunk is as fun as being at a party. I went on this game called Neighbors, which is like, 1 on 1 talking, and ended up talking to this one girl for 2 hours. And it was like, 6 am before I went to bed.

So yeah, tonight was really about new experiences because I did like, three things I'd never done before, which I think is good, even if they aren't good things. It's not like I'm gonna do that stuff all the time. But yeah, today was a fulfilling day. 9/10.

7/26/24

Today was the day our vacation began. We have a Caribbean cruise planned in the next week and today and tomorrow we'll be going to New Orleans because that's where we'll be leaving out of. I'm really not sure of what I did today because I don't really remember, but I'll get the basic details.

I'm pretty sure I did nothing important throughout the day until we left. I probably just packed for the trip. So after I was done packing, my mom got home, and we were all ready, we left at around 4:00 PM. We went to Nana's before officially leaving just to check in on her and stuff. I sprayed for spiders upstairs because they've been kinda bad over here, and I almost died from the fumes of that spray. That stuff was lethal. But yeah hopefully they won't be as bad.

Then we left and didn't stop until we got to Sikeston, where we ate McDonald's. It was supposed to be Arby's but they were closed or something. But McDonald's was pretty good. I wanted to go to Walmart in Sikeston because it said they had Lego Minifigures in stock and I've been on a little kick of collecting them again. I know they're kinda childish, but they are fun things to collect. But we didn't go.

After leaving Sikeston, I don't think we stopped at all until the hotel. We did drive through Memphis and there was a little action there. My dad almost missed the interstate exit, but instead of just waiting for the next exit to turn around, he cut over and waited in between the exit and the interstate and got honked at. Janell made fun of him for that. And that'll be a trend, there was a lot of bickering between Janell and dad this trip. But yeah we drove through Memphis, I think we stopped at a gas station for a pee break a little after that, and then we got to Batesville, MS at around 8:45 PM. Before we went to our hotel we went to McDonald's again. This time it was actually my idea, though, because I wanted a McFlurry. It was a pretty good McFlurry. After that I convinced us to stop at Dollar General so that my dad could get some ankle socks, but what I wanted were Minifigures. I didn't think they had any, until we were leaving and they had some Marvel ones near the register, which is kinda crazy since those came out several years ago. But I didn't end up getting any. My dad did get his socks though.

Then we went to our hotel, a Hampton Inn, got checked in, and watched a mix of Griswald's Family Vacation and Men in Black, switching every time a commercial showed up. But it ended up being mainly Family Vacation, and Janell wanted to keep watching it even though everyone else wanted to go to sleep. I was kinda either way on watching or sleeping until my parents had her turn the volume all the way down, then it wasn't really worth watching. So I went to bed.

Today was pretty good, it was the start of a vacation, so that's always good. 7/10.

2/14/24

Today was kinda weird. It was Valentine's day, which didn't mean much, except my parents got me chocolate and a nice card. They really took a step up with the chocolate this year. Snoopy Hershey kisses and Little Debbie cakes. My mom also made me a breakfast sandwich and a coffee.

My first class was chemistry lab

2/13/24

Today I actually woke up when my alarm went off, but my mom and dad were still going a little crazy to make sure I was awake. My dad came in my room and my mom called me to make sure I was up. But yeah, I got ready, ate two crescent rolls because someone made some this morning, drank some coffee that my mom made me before she left, and then I left.

SW121 was alright. I feel like only half the class was there today. We just talked about perception and empathy and stuff. Not much happened.

We got out a little early and I went out to my car to get my water bottle. Then I just sat out there and listened to some music until I had to go to nutrition at 11 o'clock.

In nutrition, Ramdial just talked about proteins the whole time and I just played Minesweeper and wrote in this blog.

Not much happened in EN140 either. Sam wasn't there, which I was kind of happy about. I like talking to him, but sometimes I just don't feel like talking to anyone.

2/12/24

Today kind of sucked ass. I woke up at 2 O'CLOCK, which means I slept through my 12:00 and 1:30 class. How did I sleep through a class at noon. I had my alarms set but they did that annoying thing where they show up on my screen but weren't actually going off. I only woke up because my mom called me and asked why I wasn't in chemistry class. So I told her I slept through it and she was kinda mad. Then I realized I also had a 10 point assignment due at 1:30, so I missed that. I emailed Cunningham and asked if they did anything in class and he said not really. I told him I had a migraine and that's why I missed it. The noon class I missed was anatomy, but they probably only took notes in there and the notes are already online, so I probably didn't miss much in there.

The rest of the day I didn't do much. I looked through my chemistry notes just to refresh myself, then I played Sims 4 and Minecraft Bed Wars until supper. My mom is on this diet thing now and she made baked salmon with pecans on it and soy sauce green beans. It was really good. Janell also ate with us. After supper we talked downstairs about Silver Dollar City because my mom had gotten season passes. So she sent us those. Then I shut up the chickens and stayed outside for a bit. There was a nice sunset.

Then I went back in and played some more Bed Wars. It's kind of addicting. Then my dad got home and saw me playing and he got really mad about me playing it and me not going to class. It's literally a normal thing to not go to class though. None of my classes are ever full. I don't know why he cares anyway. My mom also talked to me about gaming and said it was too much. I literally was only on the game for like an hour and a half, and in that time my mom and dad were both watching TV. At least playing a game is more engaging than that.

Then at around 11 o'clock before I went to bed, I was watching The Walking Dead and my dad came upstairs again and was mad that I haven't been talking to him very much. I honestly don't know why I don't talk to him that much. I want to, but he's just been really annoying. Like, really annoying. He was saying I need to get better at talking, and I want to but I can't. It's literally not in my personality to like talking. And he was saying stupid shit like I should take a class on talking.

So today sucked. 2/10. Salmon and green beans carried.

2/11/24

Today was the Super Bowl so we were going to June's. I don't know what time I woke up, probably around 10. I played some Sims and then took my nutrition exam because it was due today. My mom helped me and it ended up taking longer than I thought it would. I think it was 50 questions. I ended up getting 47/50, which I was happy with.

After that I didn't do much until we left. I looked up some about computers because I kind of want a new one, mainly for the Sims 4. Since I figured out how to get the packs for free, it's so tempting to download them all, but my laptop can only handle like, three expansion packs, much less however many there are. So I looked up some about getting a new PC.

Then we left to go to June's. I rode with Janell and my mom because my dad was leaving a little later. It was a pretty good little car ride, y'know, until we got to June's driveway and my mom realized she forgot her five dozen deviled eggs that she made. So she was going to turn around and get them, but Janell made her call dad and get them. He was at Oriole, but turned around and got them.

When we went into June's, Janell and I sat and talked at the table at first. I also talked to Mammy and Jennifer some. Then I also ended up talking to David and my dad, and David was telling me that Billy Joel was going to be in St. Louis later this year. Then we also talked about Billy Joel's new song, which was weird because how did David know about that? I guess he keeps up to date on things. Maybe it was on the news, who knows.

Then we ate. That food was so good, I wish I would've taken a picture of my plate. I had a pulled pork slider, a bacon and cheese potato skin, meatballs and smokies, brisket, garlic parmesan wings, a bratwurst from the German cook, and I don't remember what else. I also probably drank a gallon of Coca-Cola. I've been really craving it. For desert I had brownies, molasses cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and the best little chocolate-coated Oreo balls ever.

After eating, I got stuck talking to Andy Boyd for a while, which was nice because I haven't talked to him in years. Also Janell was jealous cause she likes him. But yeah we talked about college and my back surgery, and him working at Mondi, and papa getting kicked by a cow last year. Lots of stuff.

Then the game started and I sat in between Janell and Mariel on the couch.

2/5/24

Today was Janell's birthday. Let me think about what happened. I got up kinda early on accident. It was like 7:30 when I woke up. Since I woke up this early, I figured I would use this time to study for my chemistry exam that was later today. Instead I procrastinated for several hours, watched TikTok and YouTube, and got a shower. By this time it was like, 11:00 and I hadn't studied. So then I finally started studying and filling out my notecard that we got to use on the exam. Then I left.

Before chemistry I had my anatomy class still. That one ginger dude from Alaska wasn't there today so it was kinda awkward with me and the other guy at the table. The redhead guy usually keeps things not as awkward. But yeah we didn't do much in that class. Just notes and stuff. I tried studying for chemistry for most of the time.

This class got out a little early so I walked around trying to find a spot to study. I ended up finding a lounge area in Scully so I studied there for 15 minutes.

1/28/24

Gotta catch up on these stupid entries!!! Ugh, anyways, today I got woken up at 9:30 because my mom wanted me to go to church. I thought we were going to Cowboy Church but apparently not. So we went to Egypt Mills. My dad met us there because he was at my grandma’s since Morgan had to go to the airport this morning and couldn’t get her ready. He was a little late. We sat behind Ruth and Junior and Ruth was talking to to me about SEMO. The service was kind of boring. The sermon was about a bunch of demons and one lonely demon or something, I don’t remember. I hate to say it but I was on my phone for most of the boring parts. Anyways, once that was over we went home.

I played some Minecraft because that’s what I’ve been doing the past couple a days. I do this thing where I look up Realm codes, join them, and just goof off. It’s probably a waste of time. But eventually my mom and I got ready to go to Nana’s because we were going to try and seal off the closet. We left and by the time we were almost to Nell Holcomb, my mom realized she forgot her phone so we had to go back. But then we were back on track.

We went to Schnucks first to get some food to keep over there. It took a while for me to pick stuff out but I got a Stromboli, sourdough bread, garlic butter, ketchup, salt and pepper, chips, frozen stuff, and probably some more stuff. So I had a good little restock. When I was waiting in line to check out, my mom left to get some cherry chip cake mix for Aunt Rach’s birthday since she has that little inside joke with dad but the line started moving and I almost had to pay on my own until my mom showed back up in the nick of time. That was a little scary. Just kidding, I had it under control.

After that we went to Nana’s and got to work. My mom honestly did all the closet work. She was putting this leather fabric stuff on the walls to cover them. I guess it’s a temporary fix. While she did that I finally took down my Christmas tree and lamp. I also set the two black mouse traps with some cheese my mom brought. Put one on the food cart and one on the ground by my bed. My dad also eventually showed up to Nana’s. I made a bacon ranch Hot Pocket and ate it before we left cause I hadn’t really eaten much today.

After we left we went back home and I tried playing Terraria because I hadn’t played it in forever, but it was funner thinking about playing it than actually playing it. Then I decided to go shoot my Henry, but once I got down to the building it was way too muddy out by the target area so instead I decided to squirrel hunt again. I put Opal and Chowder in my dad’s office and that took forever because they were not cooperating. Then I walking up into the woods with my gun.

I was also wearing crocs and my new pants so I wasn’t really prepared for hunting. I heard some squirrels after about twenty minutes of slowly walking the path. I heard/saw at least three in the same area. The only one I shot at was one that came out of an opening in a tree in front of me. It should’ve been an easy shot but I somehow missed and it climbed all the way up in the tree. I took another shot but missed again. I guess I just absolutely suck at shooting. But yeah I was probably in the woods for another hour or so. I also saw a deer and what looked like an armadillo or turkey or something. It was at the bottom of a ridge and I was kind of hurrying to get down there because if it was an armadillo I’d want to shoot it. I ended up slipping and falling on my butt, getting my newish pants dirty. And then I couldn’t even find the animal once I got down there. Then I was about done and was gonna leave but my dad was home now and his car was at his building and I thought it’d be kinda awkward I’ if I just came waltzing down a field with my gun so I waited around for a good 25-30 minutes and he was still down there so I just left. While I was waiting I was whistling back to a really pretty-singing bird. I think it was a white-throated sparrow. When I got down there, my dad was leaving the office. Apparently he was talking to Beck and had me talk to her after he saw my getting close. That’s about it.

Then we went up to the house and my mom had tortellini made. Janell was also home by now. Eventually I checked my camera for Nana’s house because I set the camera up facing one of the mouse traps and THERE WAS A MOUSE IN THERE. Kinda crazy, I finally caught the mouse that keeps pooping on my pillows. After all that I did my chemistry and SW121 homework, watched a really sad episode of The Walking Dead where Negan killed Glenn and Abraham, and went to bed.

Today was a 6/10.

1/27/24

Today I guess I really didn't do much in the morning, I don't really remember. I know that at 1:30 my dad and I went to a gun show at the Osage Center. My dad said he'd seen a sign for one and he kind of wanted to go to it. So we were trying to figure out where the gun show was because he thought it was at the Show Me Center but I looked it up and it was actually at the Osage Center. So yeah we drove there.

1/16/24

I don't know if it's going to be feasible for me to try and keep writing every day. I keep forgetting. But I'll keep trying I guess. Today was my first day of second semester at SEMO and I surprisingly woke up really early just on my own. I think I woke up around 6:30, and then I tried to fall back asleep but I couldn't so I just listened to music. Then I got out of bed and got dressed and ready at 8:30. My mom made me a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on my grandma's homemade bread and that was really good. I parked my car in the garage last night so after I ate, I went ahead and left. Janell and my mom left at the same time I did because they had a hair appointment at Amy's. Also Max left a giant shit pile right in the center of the garage, can't forget that detail.

The roads were still kinda icy from the snow a couple days ago but they weren't too bad. I just went to Normal Street to try and find parking because my first class was in Grauel, and luckily there was parking on the street. I don't know why more people don't park there. But I ended up getting there pretty early so I just sat in my car and listened to my old playlist that has all of those Fountains of Wayne songs on it.

Eventually I went to my first class at 9:30, which was Helping Skills for the Human Services. This morning I put on Crocs without thinking about it and I realized when I was walking to class that I probably should've worn closed-toe shoes because I got snow in my shoes. But anyway I got to class and sat in the back next to an Indian guy. There were only like, four guys in the class, so that was kinda crazy. The professor for that class seemed pretty nice, too. She brought muffins or something but they were at the front of the class so I didn't see them. She was kinda sad not many people ate them. But yeah, once that class started she talked about herself and apparently she worked at a juvenile detention center or something. Then we went over the rubric and she made us introduce ourselves to someone else in the class and then introduce that person to the rest of the class. The Indian guy next to me asked to be partners so we were. We had to ask them their full name, hometown, major, favorite food, and something you don't know about them. So I told him my name, that I lived here, I like ravioli, and I was on my high school's bowling team. Then he told me his name, but I had to keep asking him to repeat it. It was like, Ismael or something. I don't remember. And I think I pronounced his last name wrong. I pronounced it Cymbal, like the instrument. But yeah, I guess he likes burgers and street racing. That was kinda all that happened in that class. We got out like, 45 minutes early, so that's cool.

I went back to my car to sit down and heat up because my next class wasn't till 11:00 and some black guy asked me for directions to the International Village, which I didn't know, but I figured it might be near the Greek Village so I pointed him that way. Hopefully I helped him, guess we'll never know. After sitting in my car for thirty minutes I got out to go to Scully where my Food and Nutrition class was, and on the way there I ran into Mack and Zach Robinson. And I called them Mack and Zach when I saw them which was kinda cringy. But yeah we talked for a bit, I told Mack that I think I'm in her chemistry class because I'm creepy and check the people who are in a class with me on Canvas. And I told them I'm a nursing major now, so fun. And then Zach told me Eli was mad at me because I kept leaving him on delivered, which is true, but right now, Eli's the one who's left me on delivered for two weeks.

Anyways, I got to Scully and went inside. At this point my toes were numb. But yeah I found the nutrition class on the top floor and went in. I was scared most people would be online and I'd be the only in-person person but the class was actually packed. I sat in the back near the door again next to some foreign girl. That class was honestly pretty boring. Jackson Haertling was in it, which I didn't know. Oh yeah, Audrey Daniel was also in my first class. I didn't talk to her or anything, though. But yeah in nutrition we introduced ourselves and told our majors. The majority were nursing majors, but I was the only guy from that major. I found out Jackson is a psychology major. Interesting. But that's basically it.

After that class got out I went to Brandt to use the restroom because that building is where I always use the bathroom. Then I made my way back to Grauel for my Rhetoric and Critical Thinking class, which I was kinda dreading because Sam Stuart was going to be in that class and I figured it would be awkward. I met Sam in the building and said hi and he figured out that we were in the same class, so we ended up sitting next to each other in the classroom, and it was kinda awkward. This isn't really the kind of class where you can talk, so Sam was just on his phone and I was just doing nothing. But it wasn't that bad. The professor was this old lady named Mrs. Seabaugh and she was honestly really boring. A full 75 minute long class would feel like forever with her. Luckily she let us out really early. Sam asked her after class if she was from the north and she said she wasn't. Sam said he was trying to get on her good side. But yeah then we went our separate ways and I went to the library to right some entries.

1/10/24

Today I think I woke up at around 10 or 10:30 or something. Today my mom was going to Cape for some errands and stuff so I went with her.

The first place we went was McDonald's because I didn't eat anything. My mom had a free thing for 6 piece nuggets for her birthday yesterday and she let me use that since she didn't want anything. I also got a coke. So that was good.

After that we went to Dr. Gibbons office because my mom's contacts had come in. I stayed in the car for that though. My mom said someone in there guessed that she was Joan and the lady said she should buy a lottery ticket for guessing right. Don't know why I included that, just a little detail I remember.

After that we went to First State Community Bank to close my account because I never use that account. I had 150 dollars in it that I got out in cash so that's good. I think all of my money in that account is because they give you a couple of dollars for every A you get on your report card.

Then after that we drove to SEMO and my mom showed me where the bus used to drop her off at Scully. We went here because I was going to see where my classes were going to be. My mom just dropped me off, though, because she had to go pick up prescriptions or something. But yeah my Scully class was nutrition and it was actually on the highest level (4th floor). All of my other classes were also on that side besides Grauel, but I didn't go to Grauel because I already know that building pretty well. But yeah I have like four classes in Magill and one in Rhodes. Then I walked to Academic and my mom picked me up on Normal Street. I also had to point an Indian guy in the direction of Dempster because he asked me for help.

After that we went to Last Mile Liquidators because my mom's been wanting to go there for some reason. I actually think she said she wanted to go there to look for shelves for my closet at Nana's. It was kinda nice in there. It's at that new building on Williams Street. They have a bunch of overstock furniture that's still boxed and is marked down by 20-30 percent. Maris apparently works in there and I said bye to her when we were leaving. Also they have a doodle or poodle or something that was just walking around the store. But yeah in the store I actually found a TV stand that I really liked and ended up getting. It's definitely an upgrade from the one I have at Nana's right now. Some scrawny kid picked up the box that the TV stand was in and made it look like nothing. My mom was really impressed but I just figured it wasn't that heavy. Then when we got to Nana's and I tried picking it up, it was actually really heavy. I underestimated that kid.

But yeah we didn't go to Nana's right after, we actually went to Buffalo Wild Wings. I got a cheese curd burger and my mom got a normal cheeseburger. It was reallly good but really filling. They were also playing the Blues game so I got to see them lose to the Panthers. But yeah that's about the end of that. Always fun.

Writing about this day makes it feel like forever, it just keeps going. After BWW we went looking at car lots for either Janell or my mom. We went to Morlan first and my mom was looking at a blue Ford Escape that she thinks Janell might want. I don't know why my mom wants to get Janell another car instead of herself. Janell's car is the car the keeps breaking down, but she picked out her shitty car and knew that Mini Coopers were unreliable. She can't just expect to get a new 30,000 dollar car when hers breaks down. So I think she should get my mom's Equinox and my mom should get a new car. The Equinox is probably more than Janell deserves anyways. But I guess my mom's a better man than me. But yeah my mom even had a dealership guy come out and unlock the car. The car was over 25,000 dollars so it was out of the price range. Also the dealership guy told my mom she should get a car instead of Janell because of the prices right now. I didn't really understand his logic and how it mattered (actually I guess he meant we keep the Equinox and give it to Janell [actually wait I still don't understand]).

Whatever, after that we went to another dealership (Coad Chevrolet) and looked at car that I actually thought looked nice. It was a light green Chevy Trailblazer, which you wouldn't think would be that cool, but it was. AWD, dual exhaust, blacked-out logos, tinted windows, carbon accents. A dealer guy, Landon, came out and unlocked it. This one was over 32,000 dollars so I that's still pretty pricey. But it was nice. Also my mom got locked in the backseat because it had a child safety lock.

After that we drove to some other lots but nothing caught our eyes. Then we went through the car wash because my mom had a coupon and then we went to Nana's to unload the TV stand. Then we went home.

Once I got home I went and found a kennel for Chowder because he's getting fixed tomorrow. I got the kennel, some blankets, and dog car seat cover and put all of that in my car. For the rest of the evening, I spent some time outside, something that I should do a lot more. I listened to the entire album of The Stranger while walking through the creek and sitting on a rock with Opal and Chowder (Max was there too, just not really sitting with me) out by the little waterfall area behind the creek. It was nice. I also fed Orange Man on my way back to the house. Then I put Max and Chowder in the garage so Opal and me could go on a Mule ride. Chowder and Max don't like riding the Mule so it's easier putting them up. My dad got home when I was just pulling out of the garage in the Mule and I think he also went down there and fed the cat after I did. Orange Man eatin' good tonight. But yeah I just drove around the woods and to the top of Fornkohl's Hill.

Then I went inside and ate. We had breakfast for supper, so pork sausage patties and a fried egg. Janell also got home just in time for supper. For the rest of the evening I didn't do much. Talked with the family and discussed bringing Chowder to the vet. My mom said she'll also go with me to make sure everything gets done. I could do it myself, but I feel better that she's going along. Also hopefully she'll pay the vet bill instead of me. If she does, I'll eventually repay her. Really hoping she does.

But yeah then I played some Fortnite and wrote this thing. I also cleaned my entire room. It desperately needed it. It's almost 2 AM and I feel like I've been writing forever, so I put it in a Word document and this passage alone is basically the equivalent of a FOUR PAGE ESSAY. That's longer than all the essays I wrote in EN100. No wonder it feels like I always spend so much time writing.

But yeah I gotta go to bed. Today was like a 7/10 just cause it felt like I did so much.

1/9/24

Holy shit if I don't get my act together I'm gonna kill myself. I was supposed to leave my unmotivated self in 2023. I told myself I was gonna write every day of the new year and I've been procrastinating like little bitch and I've already missed the first nine days of 2024. But don't worry I'm gonna go back and fill them in, they just won't be super detailed because I'm gonna have to remember or look at my maps and search history to see what I did that day, but trust me, I'm gonna do it. I'll actually write every day from here on out.

Anyways, today was my mom's birthday. Last night, I could not fall asleep AT ALL. It was like, 2:30 when I started trying to go to sleep and I couldn't, I was just laying in bed listening to music until past 4 AM. My sleep schedule has been SOOO off. Like, way more off than it's ever been. I've pulled four all-nighters this break. Over the summer I only stayed up all night once. That's crazy. So even though I set my alarm to 9:00 I woke up at noon. And then I fell asleep until 1. Also my dad was being annoying as all hell because for some reason he thinks I'll want to get out of bed when he's like that. No, it just makes me want to kill myself. But luckily, I had my new headphones and they work perfectly for blocking out noise, so that dealt with that. I also voice memoed him acting like that to always remember it (because it's such a nice thing to remember). And yeah, I know I should've been out of bed by then and I wanted to get up, but I am not giving him the satisfaction.

But yeah I was eventually out and about. Not really about though. I stayed inside basically all day, which sucks, but it's not like there's anywhere to go. I went out with Chowder for a bit. After a while my mom got home and I got to say happy birthday, but she was tired and took a nap for a while in her room. Queen deserves it. I played some Stardew Valley because for the past couple of days I've been into it again. I guess Janell got home sometime in between 3 and 4 and she was all mad because we were going to go out to eat tonight for mom's birthday, but the Craigmiles, mammy and papa, and Pam were also going to be there. Apparently she wanted it to be just us four. I didn't really mind either way. I just like going out to eat.

So yeah we all started getting ready to leave a little before 5 and I got a shower, brushed my teeth, all the works, and Janell was still in bed, so we basically had to drag her out to go. Janell was honestly being not very nice today. Like, it was my mom's birthday and Janell still kept trying to get her way. Like girl, it is not your day. But we eventually left and had a very awkward car ride. It didn't start out that way, but Janell kept on nagging and my dad kept backing Janell up. That's also a bad habit my dad has. It seems like he backs up Janell more than his wife. I was literally the only one trying to keep everything optimistic and saying it'd be fun. But yeah Janell kept calling June and Pam bitches and stuff and saying all this other stuff and eventually my mom started crying and it was actually the saddest thing ever. My mom literally never cries and there should be no reason she has to cry on her birthday. I'm crying just thinking about it and I almost cried then. Finally Janell apologized after I told her to, and she ended up apologizing several times. My dad never really did, but I guess he wasn't really making the claims or anything, but he was supporting Janell. But yeah it was awkward the rest of the way there.

We went in and most of the other people were already there. For some reason they'd assigned seats and of course they decided to put me next to Ella, because for some reason she was going to be there. So I was across from Connor and had Janell on my other side. I was kinda surprised Connor was there, but I guess he was on his break from Buffalo Wild Wings.  And luckily things loosened up once we got seated. I didn't end up talking to Ella or anything but literally I do not know her, I shouldn't be expected to. But yeah it ended up going good. I got ravioli carbonara and zuppa toscana for my soup. The soup was a little grayer and weirder looking than normal, but still good. Then for dessert, June got a chocolate lasagna cake and gave me a slice, and my mom got the zeppoli Italian doughnuts and I also ate one of those. The ride home was normal, luckily. The rest of the night was also normal. I talked to the fam, played some Fortnite and Stardew Valley, and started writing this entry. Also, this post has literally taken me thirty minutes to write. I feel like that's longer than normal.

But yeah I was hoping today would be better than it was, but I'd give it a 5/10.

1/8/24

Today was the aftermath of an all-nighter so I was up early. This was also Janell's first day back to school, so I started trying to get ready when she was getting ready.

I didn't really end up doing much, but I felt like cooking something, so after Janell and my dad left (he took her because her car is still acting up) I tried making some poutine. For some reason cooking always drains me so much and once I'm halfway done with the dish I just wish I'd never have started and it was that way with this. And literally all I was actually making was the gravy. But the butter took forever to melt, and the broth took forever to boil, everything was taking forever. Also I realized I probably made 6 times as much gravy as I needed. But yeah I finished it up, air fried some crinkle fries, and got out some weird like, uncured mozzarella balls or something. They tasted kinda weird. So I put it all together and went outside to eat it, because poutine tastes best when eaten hot in a cold setting. It actually tasted really accurate to authentic Canadian poutine. Didn't exactly look the part, but that doesn't matter.

Making that was the highlight of the day and after that I did nothing. I know I fell asleep at around 3 pm and my dad caught me sleeping and literally got so mad. He hates when other people take naps but apparently he's allowed to nap whenever he wants. Then he made me go help him put a tire in the back of his truck even though he definitely could've done it himself. And the tire also rolled out when he rolled it up there and he got mad at me.

I was going to have to pick Janell up to go to an appointment at 3 but my mom was off by then so she did it. I was kinda looking forward to it, though, because I wanted to get out of the house. But they brought me home Chick-fil-A afterwards so I was more than happy. Then I played some Stardew Valley and that was the end of my day.

4/10. I need to get out of the house.

1/7/24

I feel like today was actually decent. I slept at Nana's last night and ended up waking up early (6:45) even though it was past 4 AM when I went to bed. But I stayed up because I wanted to leave before one of Nana's helpers got there. So I got ready, left, and went to McDonalds. I got a Sausage McMuffin and a free hashbrown with some rewards points. So good.

When I got home, the garage door to the house was locked for some odd reason so I had to go back to my car and get the house keys. Everyone was still asleep inside. Also I guess Addi had spent the night because her car was outside. I went upstairs and played Minecraft for and hour or so. I think my Gamepass glitched or something because it should've gone away by now, but whatever.

9/27/23

I don't really remember everything that happened today because it was a week ago, but here's the important stuff I guess.

In EN100 it was our day to play "Grammardy" (I think that's what it was called) which was like Jeopardy but about the weird sentences we've been learning about (compound-complex, stuff like that). So I thought that'd be pretty fun. When it got to my turn on our team, I picked "Redlining" which no one else had yet, so I didn't really know what it was, and someone told me to pick 500 so I did, and that happened to be the daily double, so it was worth 1000 points. But it was the hardest question ever. I had to write a sentence with an adverbial phrase and like ten other specifications and I had to talk to my team for like 5 minutes to understand what I was doing but I eventually got it. The other team was mad we took so long. We also still lost to the other team, so they won a Powerball ticket. The rules were that if they won the lottery, our team would still get 1,000,000 dollars. I would've actually been so mad if they won, cause the jackpot was like, 80 million, but they didn't win.

I don't remember what happened in the other classes, probably just notes, but after my last class I went to Dollar Tree to get stuff for the puppy. I ended up only getting a bag of Canine Carry-Outs to try and train it and a teal collar.

When I got home, Janell and I gave the puppy a bath since we found out that it had fleas. Luckily he kind of liked water. We gave the bath in Janell's bathtub downstairs. But that went okay. He still had some fleas afterward so we'll have to give him another bath.

That's all I remember. I'm sure for the rest of the day I kept playing with Chowder. 6/10.

9/26/23

Today I may have made a bad decision. But I guess I'll start from the top. I got ready and left for SEMO.

I took the fifteen minute walk to my English literature class. It was alright, pretty normal. We were talking about More's Utopia book. And that's literally all we did, talk.

After that I realized that my UI100 class was online today, so I sat at a table and started to do that, but didn't get very far. It's a bunch of quizzes you take to determine what careers you'd be good at.

Then I went to the gym for a little bit because I needed to waste some time because I wanted to go to my grandma's house but Terri was still there. So I had a quick little normal workout.

Then, I went to my grandma's house, talked to her for a bit, and went upstairs. I put a pizza in the air fryer, opened my tablet, and turned on the TV while sitting on my new couch. It was comfy. I was planning on doing some of my homework but ended up watching TV. There was a show called Stargate SG-1 on and a weird other show called Grimm that came on after that. I kinda like watching live TV sometimes. My pizza was also really good. I got to use my new utensils and plate. So that was fun. Then I said bye to my grandma and left because I had to get my car serviced at 2:30.

I was a little late but whatever. It was at Morlan Chrysler. I pulled my car into the garage area and went inside to give the guy my keys. He also told me it would be $143 for him to diagnose what was wrong with my ABS and traction control light. I said alright even though that seemed like a lot. I sat in the waiting room and ate some Sun Chips because they had chips you could eat. I wanted a Cherry Pepsi, too, but didn't get it because some other people came and sat down and I didn't want them to think was a weird. After FOREVER the guy came and got me and he only charged me $63 for some reason but said I had a bad left bearing and it would be over $300 for the part and labor. But I didn't do that today. I'll call later I guess. I left and called Janell because we had been secretly discussing something; getting a new puppy.

There was a Craigslist post I found the day of the auction and I'd been thinking about it. I emailed the guy yesterday and he said they were still available and everything so after the car service I asked if we could come look today. When I got home I went to look for a kennel that would work but my dad caught me and said I'd better not think about getting a dog. But then, the seller messaged back and said today was fine, so I left to go up to Perryville. I put the dog kennel, some blankets, and sussy baka in my car.

So I left at a little after 5:00 and messaged the guy it'd probably be around 6 when I got there and he said that'd be fine. Janell was going to meet me there, but since the place was outside of Perryville, I figured I'd better just pick her up, so I went to the Perry Park Center because that's where her cross country meet was. It took me forever to find her but I did and we drove to where the address was.

I actually really liked the area back there, it reminded me of Virginia. It was on T-road, which I'd never been on, and past a place called Silver Lake. The houses back there were kind of hit or miss, some looked nice and some looked trashy. So Janell and I had no idea what to expect and were kind of scared. Eventually we turned onto a gravel road and my mom called Janell. She just told her we were driving around. So then I started driving again and the house was right up ahead. And it was a trashy house. It looked like a shed. But there were puppies in the front yard in a fence, so at least it wasn't a scam like Janell was thinking.

We got out of the car and a man walked out of the shed house. He looked kind of like a hillbilly with his marines shirt and beard and stuff, but he ended up being really nice. An older woman also walked out, but we didn't talk to her. Janell and I looked at the puppies for I don't even know how long, probably 45 minutes, and we couldn't decide on a puppy. There were also little baby puppies from a different litter. Both of the parent dogs seemed clean and nice. The man would pick up puppies to let us pet them and hold them and we narrowed it down to two puppies; one with brown eyes and dark on its face and back, and a lighter tan one with green eyes. I couldn't decide so Janell said she liked the tan one better. I think she just said that because that's the one she was holding, but whatever, it was as good as any. So I shook the guys hand (and found out that his name was Gene) and we loaded the puppy into my car.

So then I drove back to Perryville to drop Janell off at her car, and while we drove we thought of names for the dog. I don't remember all of the names, but when we got back to the Perry Park Center, Janell said Chili, and I said it's more the color of chowder so now she's stuck on the name Chowder, which I guess is kind of a cute name. And I love clam chowder. So for now its name is Chowder.

I dropped Janell off and moved the puppy to the front seat with me. So far it was doing pretty good. He was just chillin. He did throw up like 4 times though. But yeah we drove home listening to some 70s music. My phone took me the curvy way to the interstate making me take the Biehle exit for some reason, but whatever.

We got home and Max and Opal started growing at it when we got it out of the car. Also it was dark by now and after 8:00. Janell and I put the dog in the hallway by the pantry and I got all of the dirty throw up towels out while she cleaned the dog with a wet wipe from the vomit on him. My mom was home shortly and she actually liked the dog. He was still nervous and didn't move too much. We took him down to the sun room then because that's where he'd be sleeping. While we were down there, my dad got home and he was absolutely pissed. He called me upstairs and kept going on about how I disobeyed him, but I think my dad needed me to do something like this because he still thinks he has total control over all of my actions. He only calmed down a little when I agreed to pay for everything for the puppy and schedule the vet appointments and stuff. Guess I'll need to get a job again. I've been looking for a job anyway.

So yeah, today was good. If I didn't get the puppy, we probably never would've gotten one. Well maybe once Max died we would've. But Opal needed a friend, so yeah. I think it'll be a good dog. Today was a 7/10.

9/25/23

This morning I was tired. But I eventually got out of bed and got ready, grabbed a meat stick, an energy drink, and a bag of Cheetos, and left. When I was walking out to my car, I heard a kid crying and that kinda freaked me out, but then I realized my dad had customers down at his building. I don't know why they were there at 8:00, but that's beyond me.

So yeah I got to the parking lot and stuff with plenty of time and went to Environmental Biology. I don't know why, but that class feels like it takes forever now. It didn't feel like that at the beginning of the semester. I started reading The Long Walk towards the end to try and make time go faster.

English Composition was alright. Zach picked me first to write on the board again. At least this time I knew what I was doing. I had to write a simple sentence and wrote, "I went to the park." For basically the whole hour, people were just writing sentences on the board. He said next class is when we're doing the competition and he said the winner's are going to have an opportunity to win millions of dollars. I feel like he's going to give the winners scratch-off tickets. Also at the end of the hour, I waited a bit afterwards because I want to at least acknowledge to Zach my 100 on my draft. I need to thank him or something. But there were other people talking to him so I couldn't. Maybe next time.

In Intro to Archaeology, Rickard picked me to pick the question at the beginning and I said favorite place you've traveled to. I guess a lot of people don't travel that much because some people have only gone up to an hour or so away. But I said Halifax was my favorite. I don't know if it's my complete favorite, but it was a really fun place to visit. Then we took notes for the rest of the hour and talked about what is in our bedrooms.

Afterwards I went to the library and sat in a new spot upstairs and worked on this blog.

I don't even remember what happened in philosophy because that class is so boring. It was back in Carnahan since they got the thermostat fixed. I think I read The Long Walk.

Afterwards I went home instead of the gym because I was tired. I watched TV, did some homework, played the keyboard, and that was it.

Today was 5/10 average.

9/24/23

I woke up at Nana's house at 8:00 and got ready and left. I would've gone to McDonald's for breakfast but didn't have my wallet.

I went home and played some Fortnite and didn't do much until we had to go to the auction. Yeah, the auction was today. I kinda hate auctions because the last ones we went to sucked and they take all day and I never get what I want.

Anyways, my mom and I left to go to it and she left really early for some reason. Like, we left at 11:30 and the auction started at 12:30. But we got Culver's beforehand, so that was good. But yeah, we got to the auction pretty early still. Also, my mom thought it was at the Chateau, like the old person community, but it was actually on Chateau Drive in a normal community. We looked around at all the stuff and found things we wanted to bid on. The first thing I looked at was the Ford Ranger. This thing was nice. 1998, 43,000 miles, green, had a camper shell, it was perfect. But I really didn't need another vehicle. Then we looked at the couch. My mom plopped down on it when we first got there, but it seemed like an alright couch. It looked better in person than in pictures. Then we looked at all the stuff on the trailers (my mom calls them wagons). The stuff that stood out to me was a CD cassette player boombox thing, a box with tropical wall decor, and a Crown Royal mirror. And guess what? I didn't end up getting any of it. That's why I hate auctions. But yeah, this thing took all day. The box of wall decor went over $20, the mirror went for over $30, and the truck went for $7,800. Then we got to the couch. My mom had said that she was not leaving here without the couch. They started at $25 and I was really hoping we'd get it cheap. But nope, there just had to be a little bitch-ass motherfucka there who ran this damned couch up to 475 DOLLARS. But we won. When mom was bidding, my dad started stressing and telling her to stop but she didn't. I'm kind of proud of mom because normally she would've. But I also feel bad, because $475? Really? That's a lot for a couch. The hide-a-bed couch at the last auction we went to went up to $35 and my mom said she wasn't going higher on that one. I have no idea why this one was so important. I guess because it was La-Z-Boy and could come apart. But yeah we got it and I wanted to flip that ugly hag off that ran us up, but I settled for a couple of dirty looks in her direction. We put the top part of the couch that came apart in my mom's car and the bottom main section that didn't come apart in the back of my dad's truck. Then we went ahead and drove to my Nana's to put it in the upstairs.

I rode with my dad there and he was talking about how mom's bidding wasn't the best because of how fast she was doing it. But whatever, what's done is done. We got there and back the truck up close to the porch. I took the tarp off that we'd put on it because it was sprinkling a little, and folded that up. When my mom got there we ate, because she brought McDonald's. My double cheeseburger tasted better than usual. I also got a sweet tea. After we ate we went out to get the couch. I was pretty confident that it would fit upstairs, but when we actually started doing it I got a little doubtful. We had to do a lot of maneuvering to even get it in the front door. Then we had to flip it and lean it back to fit it into the living room. Then we had to move the other chair and TV and really struggled to get it up the stairs and around the corner. If the couch was an inch wider it wouldn't have fit. But this one did, eventually. My mom had her Reimann-red face while getting it up there. But we got it and put fabric things on the bottom so we could scoot it. I got it into place and that was that. I think it was worth it. It's so much better with a sofa up there. Then we went home.

I played some guitar, watched some Breaking Bad, and that was it. I hated the auction today. We got the one thing we wanted, but it took all day and cost way more than we wanted. I love the couch, but today was a 4/10.

9/23/23

Today I felt SUPER unproductive. I woke up at around 10:00 I think, but didn't really do anything except play the PS4 and watching YouTube.

Later on that day my mom had to go to June's to get the eggs from her chickens or something and said I better have my English Literature exam done. So I got that done after 45 minutes and missed one on it. I just looked most of the answers up since they were almost the same from the other quizzes. My mom also brought me Dairy Queen and that was good. Their gravy is literally the best thing ever.

Then after that I decided my day was way to boring and decided to go to my grandma's because my dad was working on her house there. When I got there I guess he was about done, but we still talked and stuff. He had been cleaning the gutters and pressure washing the house and porch. He also said the ladder electrocuted him and we found that a wire was touching a gutter, which I guess electrified the whole roof and then the ladder he'd tried to climb. I went upstairs and watered my ivy and watched TV while my dad put my grandma to bed. Then I told my dad I might stay the night here tonight. He said he was going to Taco Bell and he acted like he kinda wanted me to go with him, so I did. The line took a long time, but that's okay. He got his $5 combo box and I got my beefy melt burrito with no sour cream. He also got an extra cup so we could split his Baja Blast. I waited until I was back at Nana's house before I ate.

When we got back there, I decided I was going to stay and used my air fryer for the first time to warm up my burrito. For the rest of the night I didn't do much. On TV I watched Family Feud, but it wasn't on for very long. Paranormal Activity 3 was on, but there's no way I wanted to watch that because it was my first night in Nana's upstairs and I would've been freaked out. I ended up having to watch Olivia Rodrigo's concert because there was literally nothing else on. Then I laid in bed doing nothing until 2:00 before I fell asleep. I had to charge my phone with my tablet's usb port because I needed my phone near me for the alarm and there wasn't a usb port to plug into the wall. but it worked out. I needed the alarm because I wanted to leave before Morgan got here in the morning.

Today started out boring and unproductive but ended up alright and I spent the night upstairs for the first time and got to hang out with my dad. 5/10.

9/22/23

Today I set several alarms for 7:00, an hour before I normally get up, because I didn't really study for my exam yesterday that I should've. I guess those alarms didn't go off or something because I got up at normal time. But I got ready and left, grabbing a Stonie stick and a cheese stick.

I tried reading over the review key he sent out but didn't comprehend that much because I was also trying to drive. When I got to SEMO I studied on the way to Magill. Nelish said we could get there early if we needed more time to do the exam and I got there five minutes early, and he wasn't even there. Everyone was waiting outside of the classroom. That gave me extra time to study, though. I thought the hardest stuff would be the properties of water, morphological species concept, or some of the definitions. When he gave us the exam, it looked like the practice exam but wasn't. The questions were worded differently. Like instead of describing morphological species concept, he had us describe biological species concept. The main thing I didn't know were the classes of molecules of life, or something like that. Completely guessed on that. I said energy, nutrients, water, and air, and now looking it up, I realize I'm stupid. It's proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. I didn't know those were molecules. But the true and false were easy.

In EN100 I made a fool of myself. I guess my brain was still set on Environmental Biology because I was OUT OF IT. Zach had me go to the front and told me to write a dependent clause. I had no thoughts in my brain. I was just like, "ummmmm" until Zach told me to right, "Although it is Friday." That was embarrassing. I was also going to tell him thanks for giving me 100 on my literacy narrative but Rozena stayed after to talk to him so I didn't get to. Oh yeah, I haven't talked about that yet. On Wednesday Zach said that someone had gotten a 100 on their rough draft and I hadn't checked my grade yet, but I figured it couldn't have been me. Guess what. It was me. I got a 100. He left his really detailed comment about how good of a writer I was and how he only got one 100 last year and it was on the final draft. So boom. That's how it's done.

After that class I made a fool out of myself again because I went to Brandt 101 for archaeology, but the door was locked and Rickard was in her office and she was like, "Dude the class is online today." She didn't really say that. But yeah I guess class was online. So I went to the library and took the online quiz. I was really contemplating this one question and that was the only one I got wrong. Should've contemplated longer.

I spent the rest of the time catching up on some of these stupid blog posts. Just kidding, I like writing these.

Then I went to Readings in Philosophy which was in Heritage Room in the UC today because the air conditioner in Carnahan wasn't working. Apparently we have a paper we're going to have to write for this class at some time. This class was boring so I started reading The Long Walk again. I started that book at the start of the semester but kinda got away from it.

After that was over I went to the gym. There was a Maserati in the parking lot that's alarm kept going off. Dr. Baldwin was in the gym already. I guess he goes everyday. And of course it's the same time I go. But yeah I just did my normal stuff.

Then After the gym I went to Culver's and used 10 of the tokens I had to get a free kids meal. I also got the Flavor of the Day which was turtle. So that was good. I read some Red Lobster reviews while I was eating to see if I was ever mentioned but I don't think I was. At the end I mixed blue Powerade, Mountain Dew, and Sprite to get a Baja Blast and then left.

At home I didn't do that much either. I don't think I had any homework. I watched a movie called Coming to America that had Eddie Murphy in it. I thought it was actually really good. Pretty funny. I think that's about it.

6/10 day. Wasn't too boring.

9/21/23

Today I didn't have any classes because the one class I did have was out because we have an online exam we have to take. So I woke up at 7:00, I guess out of routine, but then fell asleep until 11:50. I really didn't do much the whole day. I played some Fortnite because I was bored, I don't usually play Fortnite.

My dad did have to take the dogs to the vet today so I went with him to get a little something interesting going on in my life. I don't know why, but I just wasn't feeling up to par today. I got freshened up and stuff and thought that'd make it better but it didn't really. My dad was talking to me a lot but I just didn't feel like talking back and it makes me feel bad, but I had no motivation to talk to him. Especially when his conversations were all about politics and stuff. But I really do want to talk to him more, and sometimes I do, today just wasn't one of these days.

But yeah the dogs went in the back seat of the Impala where we had lots of blankets down. The vet we were going to was Tilsit Road Animal Clinic, the same one we were at that one time when Max almost bit the lady. We got there and I was in charge of Opal while my dad was in charge of Max. We walked in, got their weights and waited for a bit. There was a white pit bull with a brown patch around its eye that came out of the back and the dogs kind of barked at each other for a bit. They weren't too crazy though. Eventually, they got started on them and Max went first. He had to get a couple of shots for rabies or parvo or something and he started growling as soon as the vet started touching him, so they put a blue fabric muzzle around his snout, which was definitely a good idea because Max hates vets for some reason. So he was growling and kicking around and made it really hard for them. Opal was a little better. They put her on the table and she was a little rowdy, but didn't growl. She stuck her head into the vets arm. They also got their blood drawn so we had to wait for those results. We put the dogs back in the car while we waited. When they came back it said Max had heartworms pretty bad and would need treatment. I went out to the car because my dad was talking to the vet about this. I don't know what they were talking about, but it took forever. Two more cars pulled up and there was a husky and a little shi tsu thing. I listened to the radio and put Opal in the front seat with me. Then I got Opal out and walked around. There was an old black and white dog in a cage in a barn and it and Opal barked at each other. Finally my dad came out and we left. So that was the vet experience.

My dad was contemplating going to Anne's but talked himself out of it when he remembered Anne hates German Shepherds because she apparently got attacked by one when she was little. We talked about the pros and cons of apartments on the way home. Such a good conversation.

My mom made burgers, but they were that lean white meat pork burgers that weren't as good as normal pork burgers, so I toasted some bread, put provolone, bacon, A1, and some secret sauce stuff on it to make it better. I also ate a lot of stuff today. I felt like I did. I don't know why but I just couldn't get enough food, and it was all junk food. Like Cheetos, Goldfish, Fritos, an oatmeal cream pie. And that also made me feel worse because I didn't want to eat it but I was hungry. I need better self control.

Today was a 4/10. The vet made it interesting, but that was the only thing. Maybe also no school.

9/19/23

Today I woke up kinda alright. My dad was outside so I got up by myself and got ready and left with a Stonie's stick to eat. I got to the parking lot with plenty of time and had a nice walk to the building. I wore a hoodie today because I really want to wear my brown Nike hoodie and luckily I don't think it'll be too hot today.

The English Lit class was alright. My seat was gone so I sat in the back. But then we moved anyway because we had to get in groups based on our questions we asked for homework yesterday. I got paired with Dustin, Grant, and Keaton. I didn't know any of them and also didn't know what they were talking about because I didn't read Everyman. But it was still kinda fun. Then Kendrick asked a question to Bronson and I started to answer, but then I realized it was the other Bronson she was talking to. I am never going to get used to that. But whatever that class was alright.

Then I went to the upstairs part of the library and worked on blog posts since I don't think I have any homework.

UI100 was kinda normal. We were talking about plagiarism and cheating today. The guy behind me hit me on the shoulder with the sign in sheet. Like, he did not have to do that. Could've just told me to turn around to get it. But I ended up having to work with him on our assignment. We didn't really work together though. We had to copy stuff from an article without plagiarizing and then email it to Songyon. Pretty sure I didn't do it right.

After class I left and I opened Danny's snap (the frat guy I met at the football game) and he invited me to a party on Friday, but I told him I don't know I'll think about it, cause you know, I'm not really that kinda guy, but I still wanna experience a party at some point. And then right after I texted him back, I saw Caroline. I thought she was going to Wyoming, so that was surprising. But yeah, we caught up a little. I still don't know why she is going to SEMO instead of there.

Then I went home and didn't do much for the rest of the day. I watched Breaking Bad and started watching Silence of the Lambs because I've heard of it for a long time and never watched it. I got an hour into it, but just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try again later.

6/10 day.

6/23/23

Today was day we were leaving on our main vacation of the year. This morning we really didn't do much. My dad was being extra annoying this morning. I didn't finish writing the thank you cards from my graduation party last night and for some reason he was obsessed with me writing those this morning. And somehow he doesn't really that the more annoying he is, the less likely I'm going to do what he wants me to do. So I only got two cards written this morning when I probably would've gotten a lot more written if he hadn't been absolutely ridiculously nagging me.

Janell had a Dr. Lawrence checkup for her knees and a physical therapy appointment also for her knees I guess, so her and mom were gone for the morning. When they got back we actually started getting ready for the trip. We got everything ready that we didn't pack last night, locked the buildings and cars, said bye to Opal, and eventually left at around 2:00.

The ride up to St. Louis seemed to go really fast. I tried listening to some genres of music that I don't normally listen to, like Kanye West. That kinda music isn't really bad, but it's not really my thing. But yeah, the ride to the airport went pretty well.

When we got to Parking Lot C, my parents couldn't figure out how to get covered parking so we parked in the sun. Then we waited at a shuttle stop near where we parked and a shuttle guy picked us up. He actually said he was risking his job by picking us up since he wasn't the one who was supposed to cover our area, but he did anyways for some reason. There was a cute little baby that was waving to me on the shuttle so I waved back. We also had to stand because the shuttle was full. I made sure to tell the driver thanks for taking us.

Then we walked into the airport, I got my picture next to the China China sculpture, we got our bags checked in, went down an escalator, went through security, and that was about it. Dad had to have an extra check in security. I guess he was suspicious or forgot to take his belt off or something, I don't know. Janell and I went to the Starbucks in the airport for some coffee. I wasn't going to get anything, but ended up getting a caramel macchiato. The line was moving so slow because there was only one lady working. Also for some reason I think the lady working took some of the money she was supposed to give back to us and put it in her tip jar. That was probably a felony but Janell and I didn't say anything. Anyways, the coffee was good. Then we decided to go to Chili's in the airport because everyone was kind of hungry. The service was a little slow, but it was an airport and it was busy so no one cared. I ordered baked potato soup, and when I tell you it was scrumptious, I mean it was scrumptious. Best soup I've ever had.

After that we sat in the airport forever. I'm trying to remember what happened but our flight was somehow delayed by several hours. We left Chili's at 5:30 and boarded the plane at 9:00. So we were just sitting around doing nothing that whole time. I tried reading my book I brought, The Virginian, but I don't think I got very far. I mainly just listened to music. We finally boarded the airplane and had a nice flight. I opened my tablet and turned on Whiplash since the plane had a movie program or something. I don't think Janell liked the movie very much.

We got to Boston at 1:00 AM, got our luggage, and went out to a garage area to wait for a taxi. This also took a long time because there was a long line. My dad was talking to the German guy behind us in line and started asking him about the name 'Windeknecht' which he'd never heard of. After waiting 40 minutes, we got in our taxi at 2:00. The vibes were really cool, I don't know how to explain it. Our only view of actual Boston was from the taxi. We got to our hotel after a while and pretty much went right to bed.

I wrote half of this the day of and the other half 3 months later, so I'm trying my best to get all of the details. I remember this day being really fun even though there was a lot of waiting. New experiences always make a day better. 8/10.

9/18/23

Today I didn't want to get up. Probably because it was 2:00 before I went to bed. I was almost late this morning because I left at 8:35. I also forgot breakfast, but I got an Alani energy drink.

In Environmental Biology, I realized I have a lot of homework due today. So in that class I finished some of my UI100 work, which included writing 300 words about my involvement on campus. I wrote about the football game I went to Saturday because that's literally the only thing I've participated in on campus. I also found out I have an exam for this class on Friday. And there might not be class Wednesday, I don't know.

In EN100, we split into groups even though we aren't actually doing the group work until next week or something. But anyway, they were picked by team captains, Rozena and that one other guy, I think his name's Josh, and I was the very first one picked. It was by Rozena, which doesn't really say much, but still. I still got it. I don't really remember what else went on in that class. We didn't really do vocab. I think we watched some videos. Oh yeah, we also did a quiz to see how well we knew appositive phrases and clauses and stuff, but luckily it wasn't for a grade because I only knew like 2 questions.

In Intro to Arch, we actually went outside today and made unit squares. I got grouped in with my tablemates, who are a little different and smell kind of bad, but whatever. We went to Parker Field and used tape measures to make meter long squares and then used string to tie around stakes. I didn't really understand at first because she was talking about Pythagorean theorem and stuff, but it was pretty easy. I also got to take the elevator in Brandt which I'd never done.

I worked on some homework in the library for a bit but eventually just went and walked around outside. There was a big hoard of people by the UC Center and I thought it was like an LGBTQ parade or something cause there were pride flags but there was actually a radical Christian old guy named Gary and I guess he's pretty infamous for visiting campuses and protesting a ton of stuff. So there were a bunch of people over there protesting him. I guess they just happened to all be LGBT. But yeah, I stayed away from that.

Philosophy was kinda normal. I started counting sort ofs again but then decided I should work on my stuff, so I got some of that done.

After that class I sat at a table outside of Scully and worked on my literacy narrative rough draft for an hour until I thought it was good enough to turn in. I also got all my other stuff done except for the Everyman questions and quiz. I'll do that tonight.

After that I was really hungry and decided to go to Chick-fil-A to use my free meal card. So I went there and got an 8-count nugget and sweet tea and it tasted better than usual. Then I drove around a bit while I ate and decided to go to the gym since I had some energy in my system. This time I went for over 11 minutes and got to 65 floors on the stairclimber. Also Dr. Baldwin was there again on the elliptical. I don't know if he saw me or not. There were actually a lot of people in there, so I made it a quick workout because I think I do better when it's not busy.

After that I went home. My mom called me on the way home and said she got food - a McDonald's cheeseburger for me, since it was apparently 50 cent cheeseburger day, and ribs from Sam's. Sounded good to me. The cheeseburger was obviously delicious. I love Mickey D's. I didn't end up eating ribs even thought they looked good. Then I played guitar, watch Breaking Bad, and played with Opal. That was about it. I took a shower, listened to Frank Sinatra CD, and felt kind of productive and stuff. And I procrastinated the Everyman stuff until 1:00 AM because I was trying to win a game of Minesweeper.

Today was alright. Little better than average maybe. 6/10.

9/14/23

Today I really didn't want to get up. I was up until like, 2:00 last night procrastinating. I ended up leaving at 9:05. I had a Belveeta and Chewy Dip to eat. That meant I got to SEMO some time around 9:18. And I had to make the long walk. So I was a little late, like 2 minutes.

English Literature was same as always. Still talking about Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. We watched the intro of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. That's a good movie. That was about it.

Then I went to the library, won a game of Minesweeper, and wrote some blog posts. That's it.

My tablet was about to die so I left. I didn't really wanna just go home, though, because there was nothing to do there. So I went to Cape and decided to go to Sam's. Since it was noon they were giving out quite a few samples, but I just got one from the burger stand. I also saw Papa Dehne and said hi but I don't know if he recognized me. Then I got a meat pizza combo because the little burger bite wasn't enough. The line was super long, but I waited anyways. I got sweet tea for my drink, and I knew I was taking a risk, but I figured it couldn't be that bad. When I got out to my car and drank a sip, it was the worst tea ever. It tasted like Gold Peak tea, which I hate. It tasted so artificial.

Then I drove around trying to find a place to eat my pizza. I ended up at the mall at a nice spot under a tree. At least the pizza was good. There was also a farmer's market going on but I didn't go because why would I. I also went to Goodwill after this but left after like, 2 minutes, because there was nothing there.

Then I went home, played some guitar, some Cities Skylines, and that's about it. I did my two discussion posts as late as possible at like, 11:30. I also finished Jaws and started Jaws 2. It took me several days to finish Jaws because I kept falling asleep during it somehow. Oh yeah, my mom also made that taco hamburger helper and it was really good.

4/10 day honestly. I felt like I accomplished nothing.

9/13/23

Today I was also tired when I woke up but my parents were acting like I wasn't getting up at all. My dad kept yelling up at me and my mom called me twice. Like girl, I'm up, I'm just laying down. I had a plain leftover waffle on the way to SEMO.

Environmental Biology was boring again. Still talking about chemistry and electrons and stuff. I sat one seat to the right of where I normally sit. Got a bit of a different perspective today.

English Composition was kinda fun. For some reason, when Mr. Allen (it feels weird calling him Zach even though he said not to address him as Mr. Allen) called on me for an example sentence for livid, I said homework makes me livid. Don't know where that came from. We had to work with partners to make example thesis statements. He had a box where we picked topics from. My two topics were "conversion therapy for gays" and "topless women rights." Very interesting. I guess they were supposed to be controversial. My partner was the same one who I peer reviewed with. I still don't know her name. We picked the one about topless women. We didn't really know what we were doing, because we were supposed to use specific transition words and a specific type of thesis, like informative, argumentative, stuff like that. But we ran out of time so it didn't matter.

Archaeology class was just notes, but it's always kinda fun. Also I saw Lara, the German girl who went to Saxony, and waved to her beforehand. Anyways, the intro question today was what our favorite animal was and I said whales. Yeah then it was just notes. At least this class always feels like it goes by fast. The first two felt SO slow today.

Afterwards I walked to the library to work on stuff, but I saw Jackson Haertling sitting in there so I did a 180 and decided to go outside of Scully. I was debating that anyways because it's good weather. I got behind a tour group and felt like I was in high school again, even though I never went on a college tour. For some reason there were horses in Parker Field (i think that's what it's called). Cheyenne Higgs was also with the horses but I don't think she saw me. Wonder if she still has Gunner. So I got to Scully and got to watch the horses while I finished yesterday's blog. That's really all I worked on. I don't feel like doing homework.

In my philosophy class, I tried counting how many times he said "sort of" again, but I got a little sleepy towards the end of the class, so this data probably isn't as good. He did have a record breaking moment, though. 117 sort ofs in 10 minutes. 11.7 sort ofs per minute. That was accurate, too, because that was only twenty minutes into the class. Pretty crazy. He talked about Cephalus's view of justice today.

After that I did the calculations for like, 5 minutes and left. I didn't want to go to the gym today, but I did anyways. I told myself I'm at least going every MWF. I actually had a pretty good workout. I felt like I could go longer than 10 minutes on the stairclimber today. But I didn't, I did my 60 floors and was out of there. Then I got a beefy melt burrito with no sour cream from Taco Bell. It was delicious. The worker was kinda cute, too. I also had to pay with change because I only had 20s.

Anywayssss, I went home, ate some of my mom beef and broccoli, played some geetar, and fell asleep and woke up at like, 9:00. I went downstairs and watched YouTube or something. I've been watching hockey clips recently. Getting ready for the next season. Hopefully NHL66.ir will work this year, since last year it didn't. I procrastinated my English Literature homework for as long as I could but eventually did it. Got my two questions turned in for Gawain and did the quiz. Luckily there was a quizlet I found that had the answers. 15/16. Not too bad.

That was it. 5/10 day. Average.
