I don't know if it's going to be feasible for me to try and keep writing every day. I keep forgetting. But I'll keep trying I guess. Today was my first day of second semester at SEMO and I surprisingly woke up really early just on my own. I think I woke up around 6:30, and then I tried to fall back asleep but I couldn't so I just listened to music. Then I got out of bed and got dressed and ready at 8:30. My mom made me a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on my grandma's homemade bread and that was really good. I parked my car in the garage last night so after I ate, I went ahead and left. Janell and my mom left at the same time I did because they had a hair appointment at Amy's. Also Max left a giant shit pile right in the center of the garage, can't forget that detail.
The roads were still kinda icy from the snow a couple days ago but they weren't too bad. I just went to Normal Street to try and find parking because my first class was in Grauel, and luckily there was parking on the street. I don't know why more people don't park there. But I ended up getting there pretty early so I just sat in my car and listened to my old playlist that has all of those Fountains of Wayne songs on it.
Eventually I went to my first class at 9:30, which was Helping Skills for the Human Services. This morning I put on Crocs without thinking about it and I realized when I was walking to class that I probably should've worn closed-toe shoes because I got snow in my shoes. But anyway I got to class and sat in the back next to an Indian guy. There were only like, four guys in the class, so that was kinda crazy. The professor for that class seemed pretty nice, too. She brought muffins or something but they were at the front of the class so I didn't see them. She was kinda sad not many people ate them. But yeah, once that class started she talked about herself and apparently she worked at a juvenile detention center or something. Then we went over the rubric and she made us introduce ourselves to someone else in the class and then introduce that person to the rest of the class. The Indian guy next to me asked to be partners so we were. We had to ask them their full name, hometown, major, favorite food, and something you don't know about them. So I told him my name, that I lived here, I like ravioli, and I was on my high school's bowling team. Then he told me his name, but I had to keep asking him to repeat it. It was like, Ismael or something. I don't remember. And I think I pronounced his last name wrong. I pronounced it Cymbal, like the instrument. But yeah, I guess he likes burgers and street racing. That was kinda all that happened in that class. We got out like, 45 minutes early, so that's cool.
I went back to my car to sit down and heat up because my next class wasn't till 11:00 and some black guy asked me for directions to the International Village, which I didn't know, but I figured it might be near the Greek Village so I pointed him that way. Hopefully I helped him, guess we'll never know. After sitting in my car for thirty minutes I got out to go to Scully where my Food and Nutrition class was, and on the way there I ran into Mack and Zach Robinson. And I called them Mack and Zach when I saw them which was kinda cringy. But yeah we talked for a bit, I told Mack that I think I'm in her chemistry class because I'm creepy and check the people who are in a class with me on Canvas. And I told them I'm a nursing major now, so fun. And then Zach told me Eli was mad at me because I kept leaving him on delivered, which is true, but right now, Eli's the one who's left me on delivered for two weeks.
Anyways, I got to Scully and went inside. At this point my toes were numb. But yeah I found the nutrition class on the top floor and went in. I was scared most people would be online and I'd be the only in-person person but the class was actually packed. I sat in the back near the door again next to some foreign girl. That class was honestly pretty boring. Jackson Haertling was in it, which I didn't know. Oh yeah, Audrey Daniel was also in my first class. I didn't talk to her or anything, though. But yeah in nutrition we introduced ourselves and told our majors. The majority were nursing majors, but I was the only guy from that major. I found out Jackson is a psychology major. Interesting. But that's basically it.
After that class got out I went to Brandt to use the restroom because that building is where I always use the bathroom. Then I made my way back to Grauel for my Rhetoric and Critical Thinking class, which I was kinda dreading because Sam Stuart was going to be in that class and I figured it would be awkward. I met Sam in the building and said hi and he figured out that we were in the same class, so we ended up sitting next to each other in the classroom, and it was kinda awkward. This isn't really the kind of class where you can talk, so Sam was just on his phone and I was just doing nothing. But it wasn't that bad. The professor was this old lady named Mrs. Seabaugh and she was honestly really boring. A full 75 minute long class would feel like forever with her. Luckily she let us out really early. Sam asked her after class if she was from the north and she said she wasn't. Sam said he was trying to get on her good side. But yeah then we went our separate ways and I went to the library to right some entries.
