10/18/25

Homecoming was today, so you already know it was a busy day. I woke up at home at about 8:30 am, and my parents were also up, because they were planning to go to the parade this morning, too. The parade was supposed to be at 9:30, and my sister was going to be in it with Tri Delta, so that's why my parents were going. My mom left early because she was meeting June and Pam I think. My dad was on the edge of going, but he decided to when he heard George was gonna be there, but that meant he would ride with me, since my mom already left. So I got ready and decided to wear pants and a hoodie, which was definitely a choice. Luckily I brought a pair of shorts, because I was going to need those later. I also got all my drinks situated and brought out to my car before my dad could see them. I had six beers, two Mike's lemonades, 5 whiskey/Fireball shots, and my bottle with some vodka in it, so I was pretty ready. Then once we were ready, we left.

My dad was going crazy about my speed as we were driving there, probably because he's used to going about ten under and I was going ten over. And he's always talking about respecting the neighbors by going slow by their house. But it's 9 in the morning and they are no where to be seen, I think they'll be fine. But we got there and I dropped him off on North Pacific and then I had to go park on Normal because there was no parking anywhere closer. It was a pretty long walk over there, and it was already hot out, so I was starting to sweat and feel uncomfortable. On the way of me trying to find the TKE tent, I ran into Haley, from the Finland trip, which was the last person I expected to run into. She was with her dog and boyfriend, so I talked to her for a bit. I found the TKE tent eventually and crossed the street when the parade slowed down to get over there. The parade was going the whole time I was walking over there, so I missed some of it, but I did see the Tri Delta trailer and heard their little chants, but I didn't see Janell, she must've been on the other side. But I got over to the tekes and said hey, and I took off my hoodie and stuff.

After the parade was over, we all kind of migrated back to our tent. Our spot was located in a different place than last year, it was more in front of the stadium, next to Pagliai's Pizza. I started drinking at a little before 10 am, so pretty early. There were quite a few people there, and probably half of them I didn't recognize. Most of the people I didn't know were alumni, but there were also parents and other random people there. There were several really old tekes there, like one guy who graduated in 1977. But they were cool, I talked to them some. That one guy used to work at a pharmaceutical factory in St. Louis. Indian Nathan was really talking to those guys for some reason. Marquis, a new guy who's been coming to some events, was also there and I got to talk to him for the first time, he was cool. Then they also had food there, Romell's parents were there and they made Cajun food. There was jambalaya and fried chicken and it was actually so good. I invited my parents to come eat, but apparently they were already home. And there were some really good cookies. Simon also offered me some weed, and I actually took a hit. I haven't had any since the incident back in August, but today I figured it'd be fine.

I left the TKE tailgate area a little after 11 and went over to the normal tailgate on Bellevue. It was actually super busy there, way more people than I thought there'd be. At some point I changed into my shorts in a porta potty and tried taking a swig of vodka, but I could not deal with the vodka today, so that was a no-go. I almost vomited. Over here, I saw a few people I knew, the first was Janell. I just talked to her for a second, she was in front of a Sig Ep house with her friends. Then once I left her, I  ran into my cousin, Kyle. He was with Keera, his girlfriend, and I did not expect to see him here at all. That was kind of weird with him, because I couldn't tell if he was drinking or not, but then he said he was, and I showed him my stash in my backpack. He said he likes Fireball, so I offered him a Fireball shot, but he declined. But then Ellie Bigono and one of her friends were near us, and they wanted the shot, so I gave it to them. Then we were a little group for a bit, that was very odd. Then Kyle and Keera left and I was with the other two girls for a bit. We ran into Olivia and she was with her boyfriend and her friend from California, Gabby, and that was a very weird encounter. I was quizzing Gabby on my name for some reason. We didn't talk to them for too long, and I went with Ellie back to some other Tri Sigmas, and Paige was over there, and that's when I learned that Paige was going to join Tri Sigma. That also really surprised me, today was full of surprises I guess. I talked to Paige for a long while, we got to talking about Fountains of Wayne and Hackensack for some reason. I also drank out of several people's borgs at this point, as an update to my level of consciousness. I didn't really know some of the people I was talking to, I know I talked to that one girl who works at Sam's Club for a bit. Then I ran into the other Ellie, the one with curly hair. And she was messed up, and she got me pretty messed up. I had some sips from her and her friend's borgs and also some hits from her cart. It was very weird. Then Matt Sansone and Indian Nathan appeared out of nowhere and I went with them to get out of that situation.

I went back to the other TKE tailgate for a bit and then ended up back at 333. I think at this point, I was high. I really haven't been this kind of high before, normally it's just a buzz kind of feeling, but I actually felt high here. I was sitting on the porch of 333 just staring at the tree across the street and the branches blowing in the wind. And I was like, mesmerized by it. After a while of me doing that, Grant showed up and said he was going to let Presley's cat out of her room, so I went with him over to 343 to do that with him. I didn't realize Presley had a cat, it must've been new. And it was more like a kitten, very small. So we were over there petting the cats for a while. Then I went back to 333 and passed out on the couch.

When I woke up, there were lots of people asleep in the living room. Like at least four people. So that was weird. I went outside for a bit, walked around some, and then went outside on the porch to sit. Khole's parents were out there and they were actually going crazy. I'm so glad my parents aren't like that. I mean, they're probably in their 40s, but they want to be young so bad. I have no idea was Khole's dad was talking about. He was saying he's gonna fight anyone that doesn't pay their dues, he really liked my crappie shirt I was wearing and wanted to jersey swap (I said I don't think so), he was asking everyone for a beer or Zyns, he was just crazy. It was also around this time that I realized the Six Flags pin on my backpack was missing, and that actually made me really sad. That's the pin my mom surprised me with for my birthday this year. So I tried retracing my steps, but it was no use. I'd went and put my hoodie and pants in my car earlier, so I went back to my car, looking at the ground the whole way hoping to see it. But it was gone. I checked the couch I slept on and the couch on the porch. So sad. It started to rain about the time it got dark, so I went back out to my car because I thought I might've left my windows cracked, but they weren't. Then I also moved my car back to 333 because the parking lot had some spots now. And I haven't had a drink since noon and it was now about 6 pm. Then, I was really wanting something to eat. I hadn't eaten since the jambalaya this morning, so I texted Janell to see if she could get me something, and she said she could pick me up.

So she did pick me up, and she was with some of her friends. They drove us to Towers, and I got some sushi from Rowdy's. She got a drink or something. Gabby came in with us, and we got to talking about cartwheels, so I did one. Then on the way back, I accidentally said I saw their "stupid float" in the parade, and they went crazy over that because they were like, "We had the same float!" But what I really meant was that I heard their stupid chant. Hopefully they didn't take too much offense.

They dropped me back off at 333 and I ate my sushi. Some people were cleaning the basement, including Khole's mom, so I joined in with that once I ate. I was the guy with the dustpan. Then some people started showing up at 333 because the pregame was supposed to be here at 8 pm. We started out on the porch, some Tri Deltas came over. A couple of them were dancing in the rain and Mason joined them. Then more people showed up and they moved it to the basement. Janell showed up at one point and she didn't like that I was talking to her. There really weren't many tekes in the basement, mainly deltas and sig eps. But we weren't there for too long before we migrated to the actual party.

I wasn't at the Sig Ep party for too long, maybe an hour or so. It was kind of weird there, I felt like I didn't belong, even though it was a joint party. Mason was really dancing, Scott was there an he was trying to dance, there were guys up by the DJ being corny, I was kind of just standing around. I saw Keely there so I talked to her, which the other guys later got onto me for (because I rejected her), but I didn't know who else to talk to. I also saw Olivia there so I talked to her for a second. I had several beers while I was there because they drink out of the hole at their parties and I put $25 into it. Janell was also here and she was mad that I kept talking to her.

Then I ended up back at 333 and it was weird over there. Shaylea, that one girl I've seen a few times, was there with her friends, so I talked to her some. They were on the porch wanting to come in, I guess, and Scott was there being the bouncer of 333 for some reason, but then he started flirting with them? He was like, "I can't let you in darlin." It was the oddest thing, 1920s ahh flirting. And they asked him how old he is and why they can't come in, and he was like, "I can't tell you that." But eventually, we both went outside with them, and him and Lauren were going crazy. He sat down and pulled Lauren onto his lap, they were getting touchy, it was so weird. And Shaylea and I were just sitting next to them like, whaaat. But they eventually left, and there were some other people at 333 inside. I think they were Zach's friends. They started playing hot potato or something with a football and I didn't like the music they were playing, so I put on Stevie Wonder. This is definitely something I would only do while drunk. What made me put Stevie Wonder on? We'll never know. But yeah, it was Zach, Quentin Collins, me, Scott, and like, four of Zach's friends. I started talking to this one girl who apparently was a fling with Jafar. Supposedly. But she was nice, we talked for a while, her name was Jalyn. At one point, we went outside and she asked to hold hands, so we did, and then Nyk saw us because he was out there for some reason, and he was definitely stone-cold sober, because he's a good little boy now. And he was like, why are you touching her when you know she's been with Jafar. And I'm like, damn, I'm just taking her out here because all her friends are out here. Nyk has low-key been pissing me off lately. Zach's friends were smoking a joint outside, and I was stupid and took a hit, and that got me really coughing because those always do. Arleth, one of Zach's friends, was kind of laughing at me. But she was nice, I talked to her some there, too. Then they all left and these weird people who were DJing at Hypno came over and they ended up sleeping at the house. And I also slept at the house. And Scott. And Simon. It was very weird.

And that was the day. Honestly, it could have been better, it was a really weird day. So probably a 7/10.
