I don't remember much of what happened today because I'm writing this a few days late, so this'll probably be quick.
I actually woke up really late, which was not my plan. I was planning to wake up by at least 11 am, clean my car out, get rid of the rubber part under my bumper that's been dragging the ground for the past few days, and then study because supposedly there was a quiz today in pharmacology. But I woke up at 2 pm because my mom called me, so thanks mom. I may have slept through it if not for her.
So I tried studying a Quizlet on the drive over there, which was kind of hard. And it turns out it wasn't even a real quiz. We sat through the whole class and then at the end, she revealed that we were playing a Family Feud type of game. So the class split in half and the two sides would send people up to the board to write answers. I did the last round with Yeabsira. So everyone got points for that, which I was happy with.
After class I got a five-dollar McDouble meal from McDonald's, so that was good. I sat in that staff hospital gravel lot for a bit listening to music and eating that.
Then I went to work at 6:30, and it was a pretty busy day. There was already a request when I logged in, so I was about to go get that, but ER brought them up right as I was going down there. So my next one was surg to CT, and when I went up there, I found Mariel standing outside that guy's room. So I said hey to her, then took him and got that done. He was nice, he was telling me about how awful his NG tube was. I had several more requests. One guy went from the ER to med tele, and he was the former county coroner of Perry county, and I think my dad knew his son. But he was nice, I talked to him quite a bit. I had another different ER to med tele with this woman whose IV infiltrated, so she was in some pain, saying that it burns and wanting me to take her IV out, even though ER already took it out before we left. But ER actually acted really grateful for me today, so that was nice. I don't mind doing ER when they thank me. So today was busy, but I still completed one of my HESI EAQ things, so I had some free time, too.
After work I went home and Janell was there, so I talked to her. I practiced my NG tube insertion on her, even though I needed to practice my ones for check-offs. Then we watched the first episode of American Horror Story, which was definitely something.
And that was the day, it was kind of good, maybe a 6/10?
