Today was a little more of a lazy day, but not really. We slept in later and my mom brought breakfast to us since we weren't getting up. I had biscuits with jelly and sausage links.
The first thing we did was go to the Branson Landing because my sister wanted to shop. My dad and I went to Bass Pro Shop while they went to a bunch of clothes stores. It was actually really fun hanging out with my dad and just looking at stuff. We were probably in there for over an hour until we left to go find other stuff to do.
My dad said he was kind of tired so we went to the candy store to get some energy. I've never been to a candy store without Janell because she usually forces us to go to them, but it was a nice change. We got our little bags and filled them up. I always get a variety of chocolate, sour, and gummy candy while my dad usually just gets chocolate. We also sneakily ate some candy before we paid to make our bags a bit lighter.
We sat outside a bit until meeting up with Janell and my mom outside of Rue 21. While leaving the landing, we bought some popcorn from some Cub Scouts. Then my dad went back to them once we got to our car because my sister realized one container was not enough. We left and went to Culvers to eat. I ordered chicken but got a bit too much because I had to take some as leftovers.
After Culvers we went to the Copperhead Mountain Coaster because my family loves these sort of roller coasters. It was right next to Inspiration Tower, which I went in but didn't go up into. It also took us a while to get our tickets printed out. Once we did, we waited in line forever until it was finally time to go on it. This was probably my favorite mountain coaster yet. It had really good views, was really fast, and also had Halloween decorations set up. I really liked it. Then we all had to wait through the long line again because my mom bought two-ride tickets, so we rode it again.
After we were done with that we went back to the hotel for a little while and didn't really do anything. Once we were done doing nothing, we went out to eat. I still was not that hungry from my big Culvers meal, but we went to somewhere that was really good - Florentina's. We had tried to go here before a few years ago but it's always busy. This was just a little after 4, so they weren't bad. They gave us bread and oil to eat while we waited for our food. I ordered manicotti verdi, which are big noodles with spinach and cheese in them with marinara and alfredo sauce on top. I devoured that and was absolutely stuffed afterwards.
After we got done eating, we drove to the Shepherd's Pumpkinfest, which was this little area where there was an old post office, an old barn, and an old house. They had cornhole and a sandbox that had corn instead of sand in it. My family got really into cornhole and I lost every time. It was a really nice area and everything had a nice vibe.
We eventually got onto a trailer that took us to the Shepherd of the Hills show. I had always heard a lot about this show but had never seen it. I didn't even know what it was about. We got there kind of early, so we just sat in the seats they told us to sit in. We were about to have to sit on the concrete seats because apparently my mom didn't pick the seats when she ordered the tickets. Before the show started, they had a sack race down in front of everyone, and I was peer pressured into doing it by my parents, my sister, and two of the workers. So I had to go compete in a sack race in front of everyone with a bunch of six year old's. It was embarrassing but got me out of my comfort zone, so it was probably good for me. Also before the show started, I'm about 99% sure I saw one of the freshmen from Saxony sit near us. I'd also heard her say a few days before that she was going to Branson for the weekend, so that was a sort of crazy coincidence. But I'm pretty sure she didn't see us.
The actual show was really good. It was about a little community that lived in the hills and they had some conflicts and stuff. So Guy A told Guy B this story about his daughter where she fell in love with this boy but then he had to go away because his father didn't want him with her. It turned out the daughter died from a broken heart and her lover came back to the mountains but she was already dead. They also had a son named Pete who was kind of weird. Eventually we found out the boy's father was Guy B, who everybody liked, so it was a twist in the story. Also Guy B's son was still in the mountains and kept looking out for Pete. Also there were Bald Knobbers, and mountain lions, and there was a cabin that caught on fire. It was a really cool show and I really liked it. I also got a delicious pretzel at intermission.
When that was over we walked up the hill and went back to our car to go to the hotel. At the hotel, I really wanted to go swimming even though it was like, 11 o'clock. So I went down to the pool and Janell did to. We just sat in the hot tub for like, 15 minutes. There were a bunch of little kids still down there, surprisingly. I jumped into the pool before I went up because I wanted to cool off.
Today was a very fun day. I think this will be the first day I give a 10/10.
