11/30/25

Today was the last day of November and a pretty good start to the Christmas season I would say. I think I woke up at around 9:30 am, and I think I just laid around until it was time to leave for church, so I got up and got ready for that. My mom also made me a coffee, so that was good.

When we first got to church, one of the ladies, I think a Heise, asked if I could help them get a ladder, so we went looking for it, but they couldn't find it. So that was fun. The service was alright, it was the first day of advent. I always like going during the advent season because they light a new candle each week and it's a little countdown to Christmas. I really can't get on with Pastor Rick's sermons, they are never that great for me. I feel like they are always kind of generic and they don't really have a theme. At least he isn't forgetting who I am anymore.

After church, we stayed to put up decorations, because they were doing that this Sunday. I also like doing this because this is kind of a tradition for us, we help with this every year. The Heise lady was the person in charge of this and she takes that job very seriously. I had to help fluff one of the trees in the fellowship hall area under their guidance. Then I went and did my decoration that I do every year, which are the trees up by the altar. My mom and dad were working on the big tree in front of the sanctuary area like they do every year, too. August Hanks also showed up to help. This is really the only time I see him anymore. Janell showed up, too, after I had to convince her to come and help. She got there after 11, and then around 12, we ate lunch.

The lunch at the church was not great. My mom brought deviled eggs, which I'm not a fan of. Really, all I ate were chips, a piece of ham, and desserts. The desserts were good, there was carrot cake, brownies, and German chocolate cake. And I ate part of Janell's donut.

Janell and I left when we were done eating and went home. She said she had a lot of homework to get done, but she wasn't working on it. I didn't really do much at home, either. I took a nap for a bit, like 15 minutes, played Deadshot.io, watched YouTube, that kind of stuff. I did get a little homework done I think. But I didn't really have much. I got my group slideshow thing done yesterday.

At around 4 pm, we started getting ready to leave to go to the Christmas parade in Cape. Janell did not want to go, she wanted to sleep, so she didn't go. Last year it took me convincing everyone to go to the parade, at least this year, my mom and dad kind of wanted to go. And I still wanted to go. This is another thing that helps put you in the Christmas spirit more.

The parade was pretty good. The theme was Charlie Brown Christmas, which I liked because I love Peanuts. We got there a little before 5, at like 4:40, and it got to us at around 5:10. I like how when it starts, it's still light, but it gets dark like, right as it starts. Jennifer and David were also there, and they found us and sat behind us. We were in front of that old theater that's now a boutique. The lady next to me was in this see-through tent thing that kind of blocked my view. About ten people told her she was smart, but it seemed kind of isolating being in there. Even if it kept you warm. I liked sitting out in my chair with a coat and blanket on. Anyways, it started with the runners, I guess they were running a 5K or something. Then the parade started. There were several bands from different high schools, some firetrucks with dalmatians, lots of other service vehicles like tow trucks and stuff that were all decorated with lights, there were motorcycles, a car like the one from Christmas Vacation, a DeLorean (that was cool), corvettes, and floats. So it was pretty cool. And we got a lot of candy. My mom was going a bit crazy over the candy, she kept getting up to pick up candy from the road. But it was a good parade.

Afterwards, I said I kind of want something to eat, so we were going to go to Culver's, but they were super busy, so we went to Arby's instead and ended up going in. It took a while to order because they were also kind of busy, but we did, and it was pretty good. I got chicken and fries and my parents got roast beef sandwiches. I made a homemade Baja Blast for my drink with Powerade, Mountain Dew, and Sprite. Someone came up to my mom and told her she liked her Snoopy hoodie, which was nice.

After we ate, we went home and I didn't do too much else. We talked to Janell some and then I think I watched Stranger Things since I've been trying to rewatch from the beginning since Janell and I watched the first part of season five last Wednesday night. Then I started playing the Sims 4, which I hadn't played in a few months, and I was kind of enjoying it. Then I took a break and decided to update it, which was a mistake. Because after I updated, I learned that Anadius, the guy who made the Sims 4 Updater application, has permanently quit. So I couldn't run my cracked version of the game because that version couldn't update to the new version. So that sucked. And that was basically the end of my night. The end of November.

So today was a pretty good little Christmassy day. 6/10.
