11/5/25

Today I woke up early at a little after 7 am, but I fell back asleep until around 11 am. So I got almost 12 hours of sleep last night. And somehow I was still kind of tired waking up. I was actually supposed to go to Spice a TKE at 11, but luckily Naethan cancelled it. So I got up and got ready for my assessment clinical at 1:00.

I left for that at 12:30 and the ladybugs outside were crazy today. There were just swarms of them everywhere. I opened my car and like, twenty of them came in with me. But anyways, I drove to class. Class was alright, strict army lady was still teaching. We were practicing our head-to-toe assessments because next week, we actually would have to perform them. She and Stephanie did an example first and then we had to practice with someone we hadn't yet, so I practiced with Teigan, which I already had before, but whatever. So that went alright, she's nice, but there is a lot of stuff to memorize for the head-to-toe.

That class got out a bit early at 3 pm, and as I was walking to the bottom of the hill, I saw Janell's car parked on Normal Street. So I called her and went over to her car. Turns out she was waiting to go up to Crisp to get her TB bloodwork done and get the flu shot. So I walked with her up there because she was scared she was going to faint in there. But once we got up there, the clinic told us they were only doing STD testing today and nothing else. So she'll do that tomorrow. Then I went with her to get her SEMO scrubs from the bookstore.

After that, we were going to meet up with my mom because I needed leather shoes for nursing clinicals and I guess Janell did, too. But first she went to Peace Love Energy (which I thought was Peace Love Nutrition until looking it up just now) to get this blue drink. She saw one of her tri deltas working in there.

Then we met mom at Brown's shoe store, which I hate, because the people who work in there get commission, so they bombard you and stick with you the whole time you're looking for shoes. But my mom loves it. So we looked at a couple of pairs that the guy picked out, and they weren't great. There was a pair of Hokas and a pair of New Balance, but they were both a little weird. So we had to tell the guy we may come back but we're gonna look elsewhere.

We rode to Nearly Perfect next with my mom, which is probably my favorite shoe store and where we should have gone to begin with. They're a lot cheaper, had more options, and you can look at shoes without someone looking over your shoulder. So I tried on some pairs there and ended up getting this white leather pair of Brooks that I liked. And they were about 100 dollars cheaper than Brown's.

After that, we went to drop Janell off back at her car because she had a headache. I wanted to eat together as a family (minus dad I guess) but yeah, she went back to her car. My mom said she would still pick me up Culver's though, so that's where we went. But then Janell pulled up next to us at a stoplight and I told her through the window we were going to Culver's and suddenly she wanted to go. So we all went to Culver's and my dream of eating together came true.

Town was really busy today so it took us a while to turn into Culver's from Kingshighway, like several minutes. But we got turned in and I ordered four chicken tenders with signature sauce. So that was delicious and exactly what I needed after only eating a beef stick all day. Janell and my mom split a burger and cheese curds. But that was some good food. There was a little girl behind our booth that kept saying some really crisp '67s' and Janell was obsessed with her.

My mom drove me to my car afterwards and I went home. Janell went to her dorm and then I think she was going to work at the church. At home I practiced my trach things on that stupid little giraffe again while my mom graded me with the rubric, and I think I did pretty good. She said I did too, but they are just so strict with every detail during check-offs, I don't know how good I'll do. I mean, I literally have to pass or I think I have to retake the class or something.

After that I talked to my parents some upstairs and then I went downstairs and ended up watching The Goblet of Fire. I've really been into these Harry Potter movies. I've never seen the movies before. And it was around 3 am before I went to bed, somehow.

So that was my day. I would give it a 5/10, it was fun hanging out with mom and sister.
