5/2/23

Today I woke up but went back to sleep until 7:30. Usually I leave at around 7:25 so I had to really rush to school. I am actually so tired of school and really want it to end. Keep having to remind myself there's only this week and next week.

So I got to school and barely made it to homeroom. Berkley and Katelin were decorating Mrs. Landewee's door so that's my excuse as to why  I was a little late. It was Crusader Time so we had 45 minutes in homeroom but the only thing I did was play Minesweeper and Contra III. I've been playing a lot of Contra III these past couple days. I can't beat the turtle boss.

In Christian Response, Mrs. Beaudean gave a 20 minute talk about seniors and tablets. I actually successfully got a new tablet a couple of weeks ago. I'll talk about that later. So yeah, she was just talking about how we get to keep our tablets after graduation and we have to get Aristotle and all that stuff cleared off of it soon. The rest of the class we were supposed to be working on our reviews but I didn't.

In Personal Finance I finally beat the turtle boss in Contra III but Stage 2 is really hard. We also had to research banks and savings accounts and CDs and stuff and take a risk tolerance quiz, but that stuff wasn't very fun.

In Lifetime Sports we played croquet for the first time. My partner was Anna and I was not very good. In fact I was the worst one because I never even made it through the middle wicket. But I still thought it was a pretty fun game. Also it was literally so cold and windy outside I was shivering the whole time. It was like 56 degrees but it felt colder. And I was in shorts and a t-shirt.

Lunch today was crispitos which I used to hate but are now one of my favorite lunches. It just took me trying one to realized I liked them. I didn't even like these when I went to Nell Holcomb, so I don't know, I guess my taste buds have changed a lot. I also had some broccoli and apple slices. Pretty healthy if I do say so myself.

In Modern Literature I think we had a quiz that I failed. We're reading a book called Discovering Wes Moore, but I couldn't find a free online version of that book, so I'm reading The Other Wes Moore, which is like the full version of Discovering Wes Moore, so I keep getting confused because the books have different stuff in them.

In Band and Choir, nothing really happened. I've been talking to Hansell more since I sit next to him in Band, but yesterday I didn't really feel like talking so I don't know. In Choir me and Jesse tried getting high scores on Minesweeper but neither of us even won.

The last class is Chemistry. I just worked on the homework the whole time because I hadn't gotten it done yet. It was a lot harder than previous things of homework because I couldn't find a single Quizlet with any answers on it.

After school I could have gone to track practice, but I know we wouldn't have done much because of the meet tomorrow so instead I followed Janell to Cape because she was meeting my mom and getting a new phone.

I followed her to Best Buy but I just sat in my car and played Egg Inc. and Angry Birds Star Wars because there really wasn't anything else to do. Still better than track practice. When my mom got off we met at AT&T to get the phone. I don't know why Janell went to Best Buy first. Also Jayden Buerk was at Best Buy when we first got there. Weird.

AT&T was honestly really boring. The lady trying to sell the phone was acting so fakely nice and my mom and Janell were totally buying it. She was so snarky. She tried selling them a $45 screen protector and said it had a lifetime warranty to be replaced for $8 every time. Well guess what lady, you can buy perfectly good screen protectors from Amazon or Walmart for like, 3 bucks each. And the worst fact is is that Janell and my mom were totally gonna buy it until I stopped them. Lucky they have me. We were in the store forever because Janell had to have her old phone updated and then transfer everything to her new phone. At that point I was kind of wishing I was getting a new phone, too. My phone still works alright but I'm completely out of storage. Like 64/64 gigabytes full. And Janell's new phone has 256 gigabytes. Not fair. But whatever, I'm still grateful for my life.

After she got the phone we went to Chili's afterwards. I'm starting to really like Chili's. They have a really good smokehouse combo thing that comes with chicken, fries, corn on the cob, little quesadillas, and jalapeno sausage. It was so good.

Then I drove home and didn't really do anything else for the evening. I took a really long bath and started watching The Queen's Gambit because I saw a clip of it on TikTok. It was pretty good.

Well that's about it. I'm glad I finished another whole day for the first time in a while. Today was alright, not great. 6/10.
